The first of a trinity of remixes for Ethimm’s recent debut album comes from none other than the prince of space disco: Prins Thomas. In a full 9 minutes and 20 seconds of dance floor delight, a driving bass line meets endlessly groovy percussion, a sheer firework of toms, choirs, vocal arpeggios and Ethimm’s relentless delusions of grandeur. A must-have in any tasteful disco DJs bag this summer!

For the second album remix, Gabe Gurnsey of Factory Floor fame came to the rescue. His perfectly arranged tribute to 80ies proto dance music unfolds in perfect sparsity, with an array of squelchy synthesizers phasing in and dropping out, vocal samples chopped and pitched all over the place. Reminiscent of that one big Swiss band from back in the day, what was their color again? Green, blue, red? Well, my memory seems to be going downstream too…

In spite of the odds, dreams sometimes do come true. And when they do, they feel like Fuga Ronto’s remix of Choices. Sweet in composition, encouraging in ideas, and over quicker than you wanted them to be. Fuga Ronto’s Choices remix is a perfect sundowner of a tune, a heater that oozes cool, relaxing, refreshing and rare as fuck. Hello island, bye bye city life.
